From Being a Small Town Boy to Getting Featured on Vogue, Veer is Trying to Make a Mark For Himself in Fashion World
Veer Singh, a 23 years old young aspiring model who is trying to build a rock-solid career in the modeling industry. Veer does not shy away from doing hard work. Coming from a small town in Uttar Pradesh, his passion for fashion modeling has made him persistent and diligent. He recently graduated in Architecture and is all set to move abroad for his further studies. Veer would love to take his modeling career to a next level while he is studying in a different country. So let us see how Veer started his modeling career.
Veer received a suggestion to start modeling while he was on a vacation in Goa. He got fascinated by the idea and contacted Lubna Adam for his first show. Later he got his first fashion show in Delhi for the designer Kunal Rawal. Veer did some test shoots for designers Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna just to get some experience as he was not getting much work. The test shoots which he did were the opening door for him as he got his first show. The show with Siddharth Tytler gave him the best exposure.
“I got good exposure and because of that, I got an opportunity to work with Shivan and Narresh. I was also featured in Vogue later on. Their show was a golden opportunity for me and it turne my life upside down. Then I joined the modeling agency known as Purple Thoughts. But had to leave it due to certain unwanted circumstances.
Currently, Veer is into freelance modeling. When asked how supportive is his family in his decision of modeling, he told that earlier they did not know. He told how he became fluent in English and boosted his confidence in just a few months.
“When my father got to know he told me just to focus on my studies, modeling does not have any scope. As I come from a small town Bulandshahr, he told me that these things are not made for us. I did not know English much so I learned it all by watching web series and movies. I do a lot of reading and try to inculcate words. Earlier I did not have much confidence but now I have started speaking well. Now I became more confident when I came into the fashion industry.”
His career goal is to get admission to a well-known university abroad. Veer wants to pursue his studies either in real estate or interior designing. As mentioned above Veer would continue his modeling as it is his passion alongside his studies.
“I think modeling is not just a part-time job as people say it is. If you want to be a fashion model you have to give your fullest. You just can not sit on a desk and pursue modeling. Working in the architecture sector you need to work sitting in one place which might make a little unhealthy. So you need to take out time to keep yourself fit.”

On facing rejections in the modeling industry, Veer said he faces them a lot of times. Just because of the fear of rejection he even missed a few of the castings. Adding to which he says,
“I use to cry a lot. Then my friend pushed me and said why do you cry just for the casting and try at least. He told me if you get rejected once or twice just don’t lose hope, and getting rejected after so many times there will be a time when you will be selected. So I kept on trying and then I got shows.”
According to Veer, the toughest part of being a fashion model is to be real and face the industry. Social media is helping Veer to some gigs for modeling. He says,
“I got my 2-3 gigs from social media only. Social media helps a lot and saves a lot of time. Going to casting and doing all other back-end work so it saves that time. But only if you have a good social media page. Right now have that much reach of my Instagram page. Though I am planning to start influencing as I am searching about it a lot. I did not want to start it without having proper knowledge. Lately, I have been observing and studying how it works.”
Veer expressed his desire to work with the well-known designer Shahab Durazi and American designer Tom Ford. The impact of modeling in Veer’s life is,
“I learned that you don’t have to run behind money as you will be exposed to a lot of luxuries being a fashion model. You will get invites to parties and people will admire you just for how you look. But in the end, it will just be on your face. I believe that person needs to be good by their heart, not by their looks.”
