Tenzin Choedhen from Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh never thought that after the completion of his studies, his life will be taking a drastic turn. He always keeps himself motivated for everything he is going to face in life and learning from it. Taking this positive energy ahead he has been in this industry for the past one and half years.
He is from a very simple family, where his mother is headmistress of a school and his father an accountant. Tenzin was nowhere linked to the fashion industry before. He never knew that he would be part of this industry in the future. In the teenage years of his school life, he was quite taller.
“When I was in class 10th, I was getting taller and taller. So everybody used to say that my height is not an average height, it is much more than that. ‘You should try modeling’ they started saying on a usual basis. I am 6’3ft.”
Though initially, Tenzin was more into sports, mainly basketball. He was not very serious about the idea of being a model or doing modeling. He wanted to go ahead with basketball playing and had different plans. But no one can be ahead of destiny. It was the same with Tenzin.
He completed his graduation in physical education. A year and a half ago, he started gaining confidence as he was regular with his workout and maintaining himself. So he indulged himself with NINJAS MODELS agency to startup with his passion and career in modeling.
“I was quite confident at that time. My physique was good and the looks I believe were okay for modeling. So I thought of giving it a try.”
He gave a shot to his budding passion for modeling and smoothly went through. Though in the tenure of one and half years, he worked with INFOSYS in Delhi and did a photoshoot with photographer Varun Chauhan. He was selected and signed his contract with SUPA MODEL MANAGEMENT in the United Kingdom and ONE MANAGEMENT in the USA.
“It is best feeling for me that in such small tenure, my hard work pays off. I got selected for two big modeling agency and I am looking forward to working with them.”
Tenzin is not currently working anywhere, his family has been always supportive and motivated him from the beginning. They were also financially supportive of him. In the initial stage of modeling, he used to play basketball for different places in his region and used to get paid for that. He then used that money for his initial expenses in this industry.
Pandemic has been so difficult for him, as there was no income for him and he was dependent on his parents. Though they have been always with him.
“It was quite disheartening for me at that time. I canceled much of my work due to the pandemic and I was not able to go anywhere for income. My family never complains about that, but it was quite sad for me.”
Talking about rejections and struggles, like everyone, Tenzin too faced it. He gave many auditions and faced rejections too. Though he never gave up.
“I never give up. My main motive is to keep myself motivated always. I am like that from the beginning. It keeps me going ahead.”
Along with modeling Tenzin loves to play basketball. His initial life before becoming a model revolved around playing basketball. Though he still plays basketball. He also loves to do swimming and traveling to new places, meeting new people, and exploring nature.
Taking small steps day by day and keeping himself motivated, model Tenzin Choedhen is rising every day.
