Salik Zargar’s modeling career started with social media, where he started posting his daily life routine pictures. After that, a lot of directors approached him for an audition. Erratically, one day he gave the auditions and he went ahead for India Runway Week. And that was the beginning of this long journey. However, Salik Zargar came to Delhi in 2015 for studies but now he is completely into modeling.
Hailing from the “Paradise on Earth” Kashmir, Model Salik Zargar Zargar feels very fortunate about it. He mentions Kashmir is indeed a very alluring place and a lot of Bollywood shootings are done there. Salik Zargar spent his childhood in Kashmir. And says that it is the best place for shoots and is surrounded by the best people as well. Although there are a lot of talents in Kashmir there is a lack of exposure.
Being surrounded by people who always encouraged and supported him in modeling, Salik Zargar really finds it very fortunate that he never faced any restrictions for his career.

Salik Zargar’s first shoot was with the “Adorn His” campaign. He was totally blank about how it was going to be. However, he met model Ishant Singhal who is now his good friend. Singhal guided him throughout the shoot. The first-time make-up and set work were very exciting for him.
There were times when he faced favoritism in the modeling field.
Sometimes a designer has their favorite model and they send them ahead for the work, which is not fair.
But he kept himself motivated and made wise decisions.
Salik Zargar walked the ramp in several fashion weeks like Lakme India fashion week, Delhi Times, and, India Runaway week. Salik Zargar gave his best performance to date in India Runway which was his first Fashion Week. During his initial years, he also faced performance anxiety but with time, he started grooming himself. Afterward, he gained a good amount of confidence and strength. However, he is still working on that.
Everybody struggles financially in different forms, Salik Zargarv says your financial stability totally depends on your work progress. Modeling is not a 9 to 5 job, and models get at least 10- 15 free days in a month. During that, you can explore a handful of new things and earn from them as well. Salik Zargar also revealed that he is planning to open his own gym for fitness. Moving further, Salik also commented on nepotism.
‘It exists in every world and nepotism is definitely there in modeling as well. But if you are a real talent no one can stop you from going ahead. In a field with thousands of competition, to make your own identity you have to choose the right plan for yourself else you end up into the crowd’.
Salik Zargar advises newcomers not to fall for any scam.
If anyone is asking for you to give money don’t go ahead with them. There is no need to pay money to anyone for work. The only money one should pay is while creating your Portfolio. At end of the day, that portfolio will give you an opportunity to make it the best one.
Salik Zargar has also gone through situations where he felt like he should now give up on modeling and do something else. Salik Zargar lost his father in the Uttrakhand flood, where he felt like he won’t be able to proceed to model but his passion made him work immensely in the field and he enjoys every bit of it.
