The trailer of the movie, Sherni, is out and is creating all the buzz. The film stars Vidya Balan and will premier on Amazon Prime on June 18.
The actress plays the role of an Indian Forest Service or IFS officer. She is trying to trace an ‘unsettled tigress’, who has caused havoc in a local area. The actress’s character is circled around toppling sexist stereotypes. The film’s official synopsis goes by, “A jaded forest officer (Vidya Balan) leads a team of trackers and locals intending to capture an unsettled tigress while battling intense obstacles and pressures, both natural and man-made.” The trailer shows several hints of sexism where people question her because of her gender. Regardless, she focuses on her mission to save the frightened villagers.
The trailer casts Sharad Saxena as a boastful shooter who claims he can “look into the eyes of a tiger”. Additionally, the trailer also casts Neeraj Kabi, Vijay Raaz, and Ila Arun. Therefore, Vidya Balan shared the trailer and wrote, “Be courageous. Be strong. Be fearless. It’s time for the Sherni to roar!”
