Pride month is all about acceptance, love, and equality. It is not just about celebrating these emotions. But also creating awareness about the community to end the stigma attached to it.
Many Bollywood actors and actresses left wishes on their social media this year. Joining the celebrations is actress, Richa Chadha. ‘The Kindry’ is her new initiative which shares stories of individuals who have contributed to help the ones affected by the pandemic. This social media page has already featured stories of many selfless individuals. One such person is Kushal Roy. He is a young psychotherapist who runs a mental health and counseling helpline, free of cost in Kolkata. Another is a trans-doctor by the name of Aqsa Sheikh. She is the first trans-woman to lead a vaccination center in India. There will be live sessions conducted on their Instagram page featuring real heroes doing their bit to make a better world.
Talking to New Indian Express, she said, “LGBTQ+ Pride month in India this year has gone virtual because of the global pandemic. On The Kindry, we’re very happy to celebrate the same by covering stories of heroes among the community who are helping one another out during these apocalyptic times. Their stories are not only moving but also filled with love and empathy”. Richa Chadha’s last film was ‘Madam Chief Minister’.
