“I still remember the day 20th July, 2016. I was reading Times of India in my College Library. And I got know that Rohit Khandelwal became the First Asian to Win Mr World Title. That moment hit me hard and the headline twirled in my head for a week. At that moment, I decided this is something I want live”.
Vaibhav was in the second year of his graduation when he came across the news of Mr. India’s pageants. He applied and was shortlisted for the audition. He emerged as one of the finalists but later had to quit because of the college essentials. Later he got the opportunity to be part of Runaways and fashion weeks across the country. Luckily, Vaibhav did not face any discrimination though he did not have any contacts in the Industry. He is the winner of the title UP 2019. Talking about his pageant journey, Vaibhav said,
“It was an honor for me to be the face of my own State. It brings me a lot of privilege and happiness. When your parents feel proud, that is the best feeling in the world. Also, it feels good when you set the goal and achieve them”.
Besides being a model, Vaibhav is also an actor. He was then in the third year of graduation when he decided to give acting a try. As mentioned before, he is the kind of person who likes to explore different artistic fields. Acting is one of them. He mailed his profile to some casting directors. Fortunately, one of them responded and called him for the auditions and got the chance to work with Swastik Productions. Discussing his most memorable moment, Vaibhav said,
“Each and every project is special for me, because these are building blocks of my career. After every project I was able to figure out scope of improvement. But talking about the most memorable project, it would be sharing screen with one of my favourite TV personalities, Mr Saurabh Jain in Chandra Gupt Maurya. And, obviously his guidance throughout the shoot”.
For Vaibhav, every project is a kind of new learning experience. Every time when he meets professionals, he admires them for their positive attributes and tries to be a better version of himself. He has traveled to almost fifteen-sixteen states like Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Rajasthan, and more for different projects and has witnessed India’s different cultures and traditions. He has worked in Jaipur Fashion Week, Fashion Week Lucknow, Vibrant India Fashion Week and the list is never-ending. In addition, he was also a jury for Mr. India Unique Style, Mr. UP, Mr. Delhi NCR, and more.

The profession has helped him to grow as an individual by stepping out of his comfort zone. He also talks about the achievements of the Indian male modeling industry. Adding to which, Vaibhav says,
“Now Indian male modeling Industry is reaching the heights of international standards. In the past few years, our male modeling industry is creating an impact across the globe. Currently, I am giving virtual sessions on different platforms to upcoming musicians, covering Piano and Guitar lessons”.
The pandemic has taught him to be patient and hopeful for the future. During the lockdown, he was living a quiet disciplined life. Also, the pandemic has helped him realize the importance of digital connectivity, especially from an artistic point of view. He kept himself busy with a bunch of activities. Vaibhav started reading non-fiction. Every day, he used to work out with his cousins and complement his day with his musical training.
“There were options to choose, either to make it productive by investing time in one’s growth or just spent time doing unproductive stuffs. I choose to discovered different interests of mine”.
Vaibhav strongly believes that failures are a very crucial part of one’s life. There is a struggle in every profession. Initially, there were a lot of hurdles for him. He had no idea how to get bigger projects. But because of his strong will and determination, Vaibhav has really come a long way. However, he would choose acting over modeling. Discussing further this, he said,
“I will prefer acting because comparatively there are certain limitations in modelling and I am a kind of person who is used to learning everyday. Meanwhile, in acting, learning is a never ending process. There is lot more to explore and learn. Acting is related to our daily life, each day one is observing a different character, a different story. Usually, we interact with a lot of people and catch some of their essence. Acting is all about observation and it is a never ending process so I will prefer acting instead”.
