Rabbane Victor’s journey began in 2015 when he dropped his friend at Inega modeling agency. And, he left with a contract in his hand. However then, he was not at all professional about modeling. But, destiny has some other plans for him. Since then 31-year-old Mumbai-based model has shot for indie labels such as The Source, Hallmark Suits and CORD.
Victor loves experimenting with makeup and accessories. Thus, he has also shot with Shantanu & Nikhil. He does not have a typical ripped look like a male model, he is slim, skinny, and never goes to the gym. Therefore, he has more of an androgynous style and is carving his space in the industry. He often struggles to find work in the industry as many photographers and makeup artists do not want to experiment with different body types. He admits in an interview that big labels are still not open to LGBTQI+ models. Victor is still struggling to get a show in the Lakme Fashion Week.
Victor feels that after the decriminalization of section 377, the industry has come up with a revolution. He has worked with Sabyasachi in their winter 2019 edition. And, he was the first gay model to work with them. Victor was also the face of GQ India, Elle India, and Harper’s Bazaar India magazines.
