SonyLIV’s original ‘Rocket Boys’ will soon be released on the OTT platform. It stars Jim Sarbh and Ishwak Singh as lead characters. Roy Kapur films made the announcement about the show on Wednesday.
‘Rocket Boys’ is a story about India’s brightest nuclear physicists, Homi Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai. It portray their journey of turning dreams into reality and making historic scientific discoveries. Abhay Pannu is the director of the show. Siddharth Roy Kapur, Nikkhil Advani, Monisha Advani, and Madhu Bhojwani are the producers. Jim Sarbh will play the role of Homi Bhabha. He also says, “These guys, Vikram and Homi, were just so fascinating. Two young men with fantastical dreams for their country, who just kept at it, working and working, to bring their visions into reality, to make their country a scientific superpower. And all the while, through toil and trouble, they managed to have colourful exuberant lives, as well! I can’t wait for the audience to watch it on SonyLIV”.
Ishwak Singh also spoke about his role as Vikram Sarabhai, “It is delightful for an artiste to portray a character that is so iconic and deeply rooted in the country’s history. At the same time, it is a huge responsibility. I hope I have been able to do justice to the role of Vikram Sarabhai, who initiated space research and helped develop nuclear power in India”. The actor gained popularity with his role in the series ‘Paatal Lok’ whereas Jim Sarbh is known for films like ‘Padmavat’ and ‘Neerja’.
