When asked what she loves the most about modeling, Varsha expressed that modeling brings out the best from a person’s personality. Adding more, she says,
“I love how models carry themselves on the ramps, how they shooting, how they are depicting the outfit. Also, how does a model create a story out of nothing which means everything! Every outfit has a story that you can not speak out to everyone. Though when you wear that outfit, the story roars out. That is what I love about modeling. But modeling is something you can not do alone. We need a team. To do the best shoot we need a best team.”
Currently, Inega modeling agency represents Varsha as a model. Talking about her struggles, Varsha said that she had faced a lot of ups and downs in her career. But she did not lose hope and continued to work hard. Elaborating, Varsha says,
“There were times I did not have an agency or the right people around me. I wanted to leave the modeling but then I am a person who can not quit anything. If I am successful I might leave things on my own. But if I am struggling and not doing well, I make it work until I succeed.”
Varsha feels having several sources of income is very important. She has been independent of a very young age and feels every woman should be. Varsha is pursuing her Masters’s. Also, is doing a part-time job along with modeling.
“Modeling use to pay me well but it is difficult to manage it along with studies. Modeling is also very uncertain, a week you will have 3 shoots in a day, and there would be months where you have any work. This has happened to me. My studies have suffered due to the uncertainty of shoots.
Therefore, I decided to prioritize things. Right now my priority is my studies and on the job because it is not uncertain. As it will give me the salary that I want every month. Also, during the pandemic, modeling was shut completely. But then at that time my job helped me and my family to survive very well. That is the reason I dont want to rely on just one option.”
When asked Varsha does modeling is going to help her in long run, she said that of course, it will help her. Also, she cleared a myth that after a certain age people do not get work.
“I mean look at Naomi Campbell, she still rocks the stage. There is Kendel Jenner of my era and then there is Naomi, she looks exceptionally pretty even today. So, it is not an age-based career, you have to work hard every day, and that is not easy. It is all about taking care of yourself, putting yourself first, learning every day. you watch the world and you learn.
People are putting statements out there. You learn from them. You create your own story, you put it out yourself. If you will never get bored of yourself, nobody is going to get bored of you. Just portray the best version of yourself but for that, you first need to be the best version of yourself”.
On asking about her dream fashion project, Varsha mentioned the names of some well-known designers whom she would love to work with. She loves the vibe and the designs of those designers and is very keen to work with them.
“I have a list of designers like Sabyasachi, Rahul Mishra, I adore them so much. Anamika Khanna, there are names and names, Sidharth Tyler, Shantanu and Nikhil. I so want to be their face, and I know I can pull it off. I have the capability of portraying their story out to the world. Therefore, I am just waiting for the right time.”
According to Varsha aspiring model should be consistent and determined in this competitive field. Explaining further she says,
“Every day there is a new model coming. You have to present yourself in a better way and be consistent. You give out the best of yourself, do quality work. Understand what quantity and quality are. Quantity might give you money. That is important. I would not say do not do quantity work but understand the priority.”
