Meghna

Meghna started modeling around the age of 17 and became the winner of Miss Baroda in 2007. She was also the face of Maybelline in 2009. She has done modeling for a lot of renowned brands and also ramp shows. Meghna is very good at modeling but besides that, she is an educator as well. She is currently working in an international school in Delhi as an administrative staff.

Meghna’s family has been very supportive throughout her modeling journey. As she is a single mother so her parents help her in taking care of her child. Her mother is the one who pushes her towards the modeling and fashion industry. She has always motivated and encouraged her to do what she wants to do and is extremely supportive.

“My hobbies firstly would include driving. I love to drive and also am good at swimming, so that is something which I enjoy doing. I was a professional dancer and have got training from Dharmesh sir, I feel very blessed to learn dance from him. Painting is also something that I like to do in my free time.

Meghna has not really faced criticism from outside people. But her biggest critique is her mother. She keeps telling her to improve and do better. She always motivates her to do whatever she wants to do and do it perfectly. Even if she does really well in life still her mom will motivate and push her to do better.

I started modeling during my college days. It was a college pageant but I did not win it. I was very demotivated and disheartened as that was my first chance and I could not win it. But my family supported me a lot and gave me a lot of strength to not give up and try harder. Then I did a lot of research in modeling and on how to answer questions and be prepared for every stage in modeling. I also learned how to be presentable. That is how I became Miss Baroda in 2007″.

Meghna believes that to get financial stability in modeling you need to be completely known and stable in this industry or else it is very difficult in the industry. Besides that, you also need to have a complete focus and dedication to survive in this industry as it is a very competitive world. For Meghna, modeling is a passion but it is not something she wants to do full time. When she is in the ramp it gives her a different kind of energy and happiness that is why she does it for satisfaction but not for income.

Talking about pressure and stress during a shoot, Meghna always tries to keep herself very calm and composed. Even if she is not in her comfort zone still she tries to keep her calm. Sometimes she chants “Omm Nama Shivaya” between her photoshoots if she is not feeling well. Or, drinks a little water which helps her to stay calm. She always prefers not to be stressed out during a shoot, because if she is stressed it will show in her face and that will ruin the entire photoshoot.

“The toughest part of being a fashion model is that people look up to you by which there is a pressure of standing up to their expectations. They always expect that something great will come from me. So I always have to live up to the expectation of my fans and the people who have supported me throughout my journey.

I always give my 100 percent wherever I go. The biggest challenge for me was when I became Mrs. Delhi in 2020. I was overweight as I was around 77 and when I participated I was 62. I have a child as well so it was really difficult to take care of both the things together. But still, I managed to win among eleven thousand women. That is the biggest achievement for me as ofnow. I feel very happy and elated to tell people about this”.

Talking about fashion, Meghna said that you first need to be comfortable in what you wear. Because if you are not comfortable and do not look confident, no matter how good the dress is you would not be able to look good. You can ace a simple dress with your confidence. Meghna is fond of Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi. They are her two most favorite designers. She really admires their work.

Meghna has helped Udyaan care boys in east Delhi. She has been helping them a lot for a very long time and even before that she was associated with the blind school. She used to donate a lot of clothes and during COVID also she has been donating clothes and grains to needy people.

“Modeling keeps me really happy. This is one thing that I am extremely passionate about because it brings inner satisfaction to me. It gives me a lot of joy and peace”.
