Meet Maitri Mitali, A highflyer and a Go-getter from Odisha

Maitri Monali is an 18-year-old Indian model from Bhubaneshwar, Odisha. Maitri has always been a determined, confident person, who has been ardent to find wings. The model loves meeting and knowing new people. Also, her hobbies are derived from her passion. They mostly include Dancing, Modelling, traveling. Maitri has always been a determined, confident person, who has been ardent to find wings. She always had an affection towards Academics, reading, and studying. If not a model, Maitri would have made a career in HR (Human Resources).  

Every person has their own set of hardships, problems, and failures at different stages of life. Likewise, she had her own set of hardships too. There are yet a lot of hurdles that Maitri is still trying to overcome. But despite it all, Maitri’s self-belief and never-give-up attitude have always kept her going. Maitri is grateful for her journey so far in this ride called ‘Life’.  

“I want to bring about a change. I can go to any edge to get what I aim for in life.”

Maitri’s parents have been very supportive of her, especially her mother. However, her parent’s love and support have always kept her going.

Maitri started her modeling career at the very juvenile age of 12. She began participating in modeling competitions. Professionally, Maitri participated in her first pageant when she was 15. There she won the title of ‘Nanhi Pari’. Later, she went on to participate in international pageants, Thailand. There she was the 3rd runner up. Her journey then took a high stroll, followed by several pageants.

Maitri participated in pageants in states such as Bangalore, Delhi, Assam, Dehradun, Meghalaya. The recent title that she won was Rubaru Miss India Elite 2019, which was in Delhi. The Indian Model was all set to Represent India in Sri Lanka, however, due to the pandemic, she was unable to travel. Currently, Mitali is completely focusing on Miss India. Mitali has never received any professional training as a model. However, she is working on herself and looking forward to taking up modeling professionally as well.  

Mitali comes from a place where there aren’t many supporters for modeling. However, after proving her talent after winning many titles at different platforms, her supporters grew.  

Touchwood, I haven’t faced much of those problems like others do, like nepotism and partiality. One problem that I faced was finance.  

Mitali is a person who is very pure and unique. She has always been in love with her passion for modeling. The Miss World crown, the stage, the glitz and glamour, everything makes her feel deeply motivated.

Maitri is a trained classical dancer and has also learned contemporary hip hop and freestyle. She loves traveling and makes sure that she spends most of her time in nature. That’s not all! Maitri also loves writing poems. Apart from it all, she has been into fitness since a very young age. She loves working out and keeping herself healthy.  

Even after achieving great milestones in life, The Indian model chooses to remain optimistic and grounded. She takes up criticism in a positive manner and works them out to get even better at what she is best at.  

Financial Stability is very important in a model’s career. Maitri has been facing this problem of finance. She anyway hopes she gets some sort of help, allowances, or financial support from the government.  

“I need funds to move ahead in my career. I did some projects in Odisha, but the payments have never been so great. “ 

Every Profession comes with some sort of challenges. Models these days run into depression if they get no work. However, it all depends on the mindset the person possesses. If a person wants to be successful, they have to prove themselves by working hard.  

“People these days have got pressure on themselves that they need to maintain their body figure. But there are days when we feel to eat Pizzas, but the fear that we might gain gets us worried” 

Mitali believes that social media has been a boon to all of the models, bloggers, influencers. Social media has got in new features to improve your performance. Everyone nowadays is working on their profile and earning a level. Therefore, with the help of social media, people can get collaborations and earn money.

“I never took any professional modeling training, but with features such as reels, IGTV, etc. I get to know what is happening where and what’s trending. I’ve learned a lot of things through it.” 

The Indian model wishes to work with professional designers in the future. Not only the ones who are established and famous, but she also wants to collaborate with new and budding designers. Moreover, She would love to work with big brands as well as small ones. Mitali loves the culture of Halloween. Both professionally and personally,  Indian models experiment with different ideas and creative concepts. Dressing up as devils and witches is a creative concept. India being a diverse country, everyone has the liberty to follow what they want and dress up in the manner they like according to their standard and stature. Be it Halloween or the Easter years, everything is welcomed with a lot of love.  

“Even if it’s a dark-themed or a negative concept, I like it. It’s a concept that is already in the west, so why not try it in India as well.  

Mitali wants to work for the poor class and help them in every way possible. She believes that if we try at our small level to help these poor people with a one-time meal, we the youth can make a change. Another important issue she wants to highlight is awareness for the Transgender Community.  

Lastly, Mitali is living her best life. She loves her journey and would not like to change anything about it!
