Dilip Kumar was known as the Tragedy King of Bollywood, passed away today in the morning. But he left the legacy behind. He was the trendsetter for his acting styles. He was born Yusuf Khan in the year 1922 in Peshawar, Pakistan. When he entered Bollywood in the 1940s, Dilip Kumar became his screen name. Dilip Kumar ruled Bollywood for over 60 years. Dilip Kumar holds many records for winning the maximum number of Filmfare. In his five decades-long careers, he has contributed a lot to Hindi Cinema. He acted in more than 65 movies in his career. Also, known for some iconic roles in films like ‘Devdas’ (1955), ‘Naya Daur’ (1957), ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ (1960), ‘Ganga Jamuna’ (1961), ‘Kranti’ (1981), and ‘Karma’ (1986). However, he last appeared in the movie ‘Qila’ in 1988. Dilip Kumar was one of the greatest actors that India has ever seen.
Dilip Kumar was honored with Dadasaheb Phalke Award in the year 1994 and Padma Vibhusan in 2015. His demise has left the film fraternity in extreme grief. The whole nation mourns the death of the legendary actor.

The legendary actor was survived by his wife, Saira Banu, who was the popular leading lady in Bollywood in the 1960s and 1970s. Dilip Kumar faced breathing issues and admitted to the hospital on June 30.
