Chinmayi Sripada recently acknowledged Samantha Akkineni for facing the negativity surrounding the show, ‘The Family Man 2’. Today, the singer and VO artist revealed how Samantha is constantly pressurized to support her.
In her Instagram post, Chinmayi wrote, “Not many in my own music fraternity have taken a stand that Sam has constantly taken despite pressure not to. It is not easy to stand up to the Radha Ravis of the world. And she will forever be my rockstar.”. She also clarified in the caption that she is not victimizing herself here but rather, that it is a fact of her life. In November 2018, the singer was ousted from the Television Artists and Dubbing Artists Union. It was allegedly due to non-payment of fees. Actor Radha Ravi became the Union’s president. He became the president after Chinmayi’s nomination got rejected.
Chinmayi tweeted afterward saying, “Mr. Radha Ravi has won ‘unopposed’ and they rejected my nomination, it seems. Despite the fact that my interim order says I have all the rights to be a member. I don’t understand how the Honorable Retired Justice Sri Ravi decided I am not a member when the Court says so.”. She also revealed that her ban was due to sharing allegations against Radha Ravi during the #MeToo movement. Chinmayi Sripada was a staunch supporter of the movement. She had shared the tweet stating forceful sexual allegations against Radha Ravi made by a woman in 2018. Along with it, she mentioned that her career is now at risk since he is the head of the dubbing union.
