‘Lagaan: Once Upon A Time In India’ completes two decades today. The period drama is a landmark in Indian cinema.
Director Ashutosh Gowariker and Aamir Khan productions will come together in collaboration with Netflix to celebrate two decades of ‘Lagaan’. The reunion is title as ‘Chale Chalo Lagaan- Once Upon An Impossible Dream’. It will stream on Netflix India’s Youtube channel. People love the film worldwide. The movie has a cult-like following. Lagaan was also nominated for an Academy Award. Domestically, the film grossed 556.3 million(INR) and its total worldwide gross was 676.8 million(INR). It is one of the biggest films in the history of cinema.
Talking about the film, Aamir Khan said, “We broke our backs while making Lagaan, but our hearts were full of joy. Lagaan has showered us all with so much love. It is also so wonderful to see that the journey of Lagaan continues, and I am really looking forward to reconnecting with the Lagaan gang thanks to this initiative by Netflix”. The director of the film, Ashutosh Gowariker also shared, “My ultimate dream was to create something which will linger in the audience’s mind.
