Top Indian Fashion Brands That Make A Difference

Modern-day Indians are adapting to a chic approach to fashion. With this approach, they seek to buy clothes that are branded. Individuals are turning out to be more style cognizant and sensitive towards the society and environment. There are some names that all of us are familiar with. And these are the brands that not only have made a difference through their products but also through their activities.

The Indian fashion market is growing rapidly. It caters to a wide range of clothing, foot wares accessories, and cosmetics. Recently, a survey found out that the Indian fashion industry can increase from its net worth of Rs 200 crore to Rs 1,000 crore in the next ten years. Therefore, the fact that more than 81 percent of the population below 45 years of age is fashion conscious, seems quite possible.

The brands mentioned below are some of the top brands in India that have made a difference in India :

Lakme

Lakme is in the Indian beauty segment for over 50 years now. It was India’s first brand to introduce cosmetics to women in the country. The brand describes itself to be “an ally” to the classic Indian women. Lakme puts forth a wide range of cosmetics that fit Indian skin tones. It organizes the largest fashion event in the country which is the Lakme fashion week. Breaking the stereotypes and myths has always been Lakme’s unique approach. The lakme fashion week experienced its first ever plus size model in 2016. Thereafter, in 2017 it took a leap further to give meaning to the idea of inclusivity. It welcomed its first gender-neutral model on its runways.

Allen Solly

Allen Solly was established by William Hollin and Co Ltd. Madura Garments purchased the brand.  Aditya Birla Group took over Allen Solly in 2001. Since then, Allen Solly has been India’s biggest and quickest developing clothing brand. Its product line includes affordable to luxurious garments catering to every age group be it, men or women. Allen Solly turned into the primary Indian brand to present work style for women. Madura fashion is defined by its brands that personify style luxury and comfort, namely – Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, and Peter England. For more than a century, the Aditya Birla Group has been deeply engaged in community work. The Covid-19 pandemic presents an unprecedented challenge to the nation. Aditya Birla group contributed 500 crores to PM cares fund.

Raymond’s

Raymond is perhaps the most well-known Indian attire brand in India. Set up in 1925, presumably by Raymond, it is the most confided in brands that create the best nature of garments. Gautam Singhania, Chairman of JK Group of Companies is the owner of Raymond’s. In addition, Park Avenue which is India’s premium brand is also owned by the Raymond group. Park avenue is another influential brand of India because it caters to a variety of products ranging from deodorants, garments, and beer shampoos. Raymond group is a corporate group with a much-focused campaign of “A Complete Man”. Raymond group has collaborated with Reliance Industries limited in making the ecofriendly Ecovera- a range of fabrics manufactured by using greengold, the greenest fiber in the world.

Elle 18

The Elle 18 range of cosmetics offers shoppers a variety of brilliant tones to supplement any outfit. The very adorable range looks great as well as feels incredible to carry along anywhere. They describe themselves to be “the choice of today’s young women”. While the brand is owned by Hindustan Unilever, its brand ambassador is Anushka Sharma. Elle 18 is the go-to brand for Indian women as they find it to be affordable. For instance, almost every Indian woman has put on the Elle 18 nail polish once in her life! The brand also showcased all it’s nail polish colours in the LGBTQ flag, in a bid to support the community.

Fastrack

Fastrack is a popular brand among the youngsters of India. Tata group is the owner of the brand and it is a subpart of Titan watches. In addition to selling trendy watches, they have also expanded to a range of wallets, belts, bags, and sunglasses. The brand aims to cater to the unique taste of the youth of India. Because of the strong distribution network of the Tata group, Fastrack was easily available at all Indian markets. Hence, making the brand that made a difference to the youngsters. Tata group claims that there are small groups of women who produce the simpler parts of the watch like the bracelet, under their supervision but through self-help groups. So, it is a source of employment.

These brands continue to maintain a huge market share in the fashion industry for years. In conclusion, they have proven the fact that Indian brands have contributed to the development of India. Moreover, we as Indians should support these Indian homegrown fashion brands. Similarly, supporting the budding fashion brands based of out India is also equally important.
