Meet content creator and professional model Munazza Sabuwala from Pune who is reaching new heights with her efforts. Munazza is 22 and she grew up watching fashion shows. She always wanted to do something related to the world of modeling. We got the opportunity to interview her during this festive season. She sheds light on how India glams up for the festivals ahead.
Festivals are the only chance for us to get ready and enjoy them. So, choosing the right fabric is very important. When asked Munazza about her opinion on this, she mentioned,
“Our clothes not only provide us with a fashion statement but also fundamentally protect us from heat & cold, they help us maintain our body temperature. Warm, thick, and dark clothes should be worn for festivals during the evenings. Whereas cool, soft, and light-colored clothes are for daytime festivals. Hence knowledge of selecting the clothes according to the festive occasion is essential.”
Throwing some light on the current fashion trends in India this festive season, Munazza said,
“I am actually quite happy that fashion trends nowadays are very flexible. We don’t need to stick to a style. We can mix and match and choose what goes the best. The spotlight is on handmade outfits in 2021. A new trend is to add some royalty in with velvet, Mughal era with modern silhouette structure and frills”
For many of us, this time of year is a time for finding joy in the planning and celebrating of various festivals and celebrations that bring families and friends together. Due to the pandemic, people will be under restrictions but that does not mean we can not celebrate. Coping with the disappointment we can wear our favorite outfits with some twist. While discussing how to add a festive touch this year if you are unable to go out, Munnazza told,
“As I mentioned earlier I would like to mix and match my existing outfits. I would pair up pieces of denim with some trendy Kurtis and add a statement earring. That’s my current favorite. I think you can combine the shirt with a lehenga, palazzo with crop tops, skirt with blouse and add a dupatta.”
Being a stylish person, Munazza gave some tips on how to look stylish yet elegant this festive season,
“I think whatever you wear becomes a style. You do not need to always follow trends blindly. Just wear whatever makes you comfortable and you will be confident enough to flaunt it!”
Fashion is something that is dynamic, it is about how people express themselves. Munazza’s take on this,
“According to me, fashion is a form of self-expression and autonomy of a particular period and place in the context of clothing, footwear, lifestyle, accessories, makeup, hairstyle, and even body posture!”
Festivals bring the rage of emotions, grief, and happiness come side by side. This pandemic tries and enjoy each festival as much as you can even if you are away from your family. Munazza expresses how she celebrates festivals away from family.
“I personally stay away from my family so on festivals I cook food by myself, I invite my friends over to my house. We play cards and more games. I video call my family and wish them. I would recommend others also to do the same if they are away from their family and celebrate festivals happily and safely.
Our daily schedules keep us away from our close friends and relatives. Festivals bring us together, it gives a good time to rejoice and built strong bonds between everyone. Celebrating festivals also help us to learn the importance of togetherness”
There are different ways by which you can celebrate festivals. Be safe and happy. Making a loose plan. We hope that by the time the occasions arrive there will be a ray of hope. Speaking about her favorite festivals, Munnazza said,
“I love all the festivals equally. I love each festival as much as others because they all are so different and have so much to offer us in terms of experiences and learning’s and not to forget the joy they all bring to us”
