“Dedication and hard work always kept me going” says Smarth Sikka. 

Smarth Sikka is an Indian model. He has completed his education in  B.tech.  Smarth’s journey as a model has been interesting and full of passion. He was scouted by a modeling agency in 2020. The modeling agency found him through the social media app- Instagram. Initially, Smarth was a bit skeptical about the offer. He has always been camera conscious and still is. However, he thought that not everyone gets the opportunity, hence he thought to give this a chance. Later, he found out that it was his best decision to date.

Smarth’s family wasn’t much supportive of his decision of getting into the modeling industry. The reason being, the model had just finished his B.tech. His parents asked him to look out for a 9-5 job and not distract his focus elsewhere. Moreover, Smarth’s passion and desire for modeling were much more than just a 9-5 job. He began convincing them and finally was successful at it.  

The model is also a freelance Graphic Designer. He is also learning a UI/UX course.  Smarth has his plans all set. He says that if modeling does not turn out to be a viable option for him, he would like to continue with his studies in the future. If not a model, he would then work in the Product Development field. Smarth did not face a lot of major criticisms in his journey. However, he had to go through a lot of rejections. Smarth went for auditions and was often rejected for several reasons. The model decided not to feel discouraged at all. Instead, he decided to learn from those. These acceptances’ that he made helped the model improve his craft and his qualities.  

“I believe everything happens for the good”

Smarth feels there are certain sets of complications that come with the job of modeling. But when you look at the brighter side, there is a lot of fun and positivity to it.  

“It keeps me motivated to be fit and eat healthily. Also, if you’re really passionate about anything then the stress does not bother you.  

Smarth feels that the job of modeling comes with no job security. There are a certain number of ups and downs that the role of a model has. But the only ingredient required for a successful career into it is dedication and hard work. Smarth sometimes too feels insecure about these things. But he somewhere knows that he is a fresh face and if he needs stability in his career of modeling, he needs to work hard.  

“Being focused and smart can land you at a better place in the Industry.  As there is a lot of scope in the industry.’” 

One of the toughest parts for the model so far in his journey has been to remain in good shape. The part of being shape is not only a difficulty for one or two, but it is a problem for every model these days. But since it is a part and parcel of the journey, the model needs to look after it and maintain it. Smarth is a foodie and he enjoys discovering new food joints and try new various cuisines. But, due to his work commitments and determination, he avoids them.  

The model is not a type of goal-oriented person and believes in living the present and do the hard work the job requires. So, Smarth’s advice of the young model asks them to work hard and stay true to themselves. And this will eventually land them at a good place in life and their career.  

The strongest virtue for Smarth is wisdom. He loves learning. He wants to explore new things and has a never-give-up attitude. The weakest quality that the model possesses is Self-Control. He says he gives into unhealthy temptations very easily.  

“I think the fashion trends in the world have changed drastically in the last two years. People have moved out of their comfort zones and have experimented with a lot more new ideations. “ 

Smarth loves these fashion trends. He says that he is a very lazy person and does not like getting into formals. The model thinks that social media has become a crucial part of one’s life. Having a strong social media base is very important. With the help of social media, a person is able to be in touch with the people and the world. It plays an important role in a model’s life to stay up to date with the fashion trends.  

Lastly, Smarth is a dog lover. He often helps the helpless stray dogs to find shelter. He would love to open an NGO for such stray dogs and help them as much as possible.
