10 WAYS TO BOOST YOUR STRENGTH AND IMMUNITY FOR SPORTS

WHY ARE STRENGTH AND IMMUNITY IMPORTANT FOR SPORTS?

Sport is a great way to maintain our physical and mental well-being. A good immune system is necessary for sports. An active immune system and good strength are necessary for an athlete to keep his peak performances consistent. The immune system can maintain the tissues of our body and keep unwanted foreign substances away.

HOW CAN YOU DO IT?

1. Follow a healthy diet schedule-

 

Focus on making your diet healthy with less oily food and carbs. Your everyday meal should include fiber-rich vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains, and healthy fats in the required amount. Do not put the load on your digestive system, especially the liver. The liver filters the blood and breaks down fatty acids along with eliminating excess cholesterol and toxins. 

2. Maintain personal hygiene-

Keep yourself and your surroundings clean and healthy. You can wash your hands at regular intervals and sanitize them to stay away from germs and bacteria. It takes a minimum of 20 seconds to do that. So, make sure you use proper sanitary kits.

3. Consumption of alcoholic drinks should be modest-

Alcohol affects memory and triggers emotional events of the past. Alcohol dependence can lead to addiction which can, in turn, cause depression and anxiety. Moreover, it can affect your liver and cause chronic diseases. It also disrupts the normal sleeping pattern. So, its consumption should be minimal.

4. Sufficient sleep is necessary-

When one sleeps, one body produces protective, infection-fighting substances like antibodies and cytokines. These help the body to combat the bad bacterias and viruses, basically illness. Inadequate sleep affects this process. Moreover, the recovery period is longer.

5. Workout daily –

Sports and working out are different. A workout is a small set of basic but vigorous exercises that are required to keep the immune system healthy. This gives strength and energy to the body while playing any sport. It’s a simple process that will help you burn calories, improve your overall body, resilience to stress, and build cardiovascular endurance

6. Reduce stress in your life-

Stress is the reaction of one’s body to what they perceive as a harmful situation It leads to the release of cortisol and cytokines, which trigger inflammation. It affects the number of white blood cells which can affect the recovery process from illness. 

7 . Have adequate vitamins-

Vitamins and minerals bolster the growth and development of your body. calls and metabolizes food. You can derive vitamin C by consumption of oranges, strawberries, spinach, or grapefruit. You can take a sunbathe and get vitamin D. Also, You can have green veggies and hummus for vitamin B6 and have nuts, seeds, and spinach for Vitamin E. These are basic vitamins for a healthy body too.

8. Shower after working out-

After working out, the perspiration and sweat are still wet on your skin. So, wash them away with clean water to avoid fungal infections. 

9. Practice yoga and meditation-

Yoga and deep breathing exercises help you calm and focus better. Yoga includes poses that will calm and soothes your nervous system. Also, meditation helps you to control your thoughts and stay determined. 

10. Practice deep breathing techniques-

Breathing exercises can simply help you to control lymphatic flows, control blood pressure, and blood flow. Moreover, it helps in the detoxification of organs like the liver and kidney. 

When you start treating your body right and take care of it, your immune system improves. Eat healthy, work out every day without fail, and maintain personal hygiene. If you stay consistent and determined, you can excel at sports and have a healthy immune system as well.
