Amulya Chava from California, USA is has come a long way in the pageant world. She won the Miss Beverly Hills Teen contest in 2020.
Originally from Telangana, her family moved to California when she was just a year old. She was a Political Science student in school and dreams of becoming a civil rights lawyer. Amulya has been participating in beauty pageants since she was 16 years old and has also trained online with Cocoaberry Talent and Academy. She started her journey by participating in a local pageant after a suggestion by her mother. Thereafter, she won Miss World Kansas. She also competed at Miss World America and ended up in the top 15. She was the youngest national finalist to do so at just the age of 17. Amulya is a beauty with brains too. She is the author of a book called ‘Soar’ which is based on the societal constraints that are pressured upon young women.
In an interview with Opening Doorz, she talked about her journey with Cocoaberry. She said, “Miss Anjali emphasizes on a lot on reading and watching movies that inspire, like ‘Invictus’. She encourages you to do these things to expand your vocabulary and thought process and also have awareness about social issues”. Moreover, she is also fluent in her mother tongue, Telugu besides living abroad since the age of 1. Apart from beauty contests, she has also raised awareness and funds for American war veterans and their families. Amulya was recognized by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Association for the commendable work she did for her country’s veterans. She is truly a role model for young women to look up to!
