The famous serial ‘Balika Vadhu’ is going to return to the screens again. The show aired between 2008-2016 on Colors TV. The show was based on child marriage in rural Rajasthan.
Word has it that the makers of the show have begun approaching actors for the show. Actors Sunny Pancholi and Riddhi Nayak are reportedly starred in the second edition of the serial. Also, actress Riddhi Nayak will play the role of Anandi’s mother. Anandi is the lead character who plays the child bride in the show. Avika Gor performed the role of young Anandi whereas Pratyusha Banerjee and Toral Rasputra acted as Anandi in her womanhood. ‘Balika Vadhu’ revolves around the lives of two children- Anandi and Jagdish. They tie the knot in their childhood. It also shows the transition from childhood to adult life and the circumstances and events surrounding their lives.
Actress Bhairavi Raichura played Anandi’s mother in the first edition of the soap opera. Sphere Origins will produce the show. Balika Vadhu was the first show on child marriage. Moreover, it was also the first Indian drama to complete 2000 episodes.
